Lime applications on fairways, tees and green surrounds have been completed.  Lime's main component is calcium which helps increase fertiliser efficiency, raises soil pH, raises the levels of calcium and accelerates micro-biological activity and increases the rate of release from the soil of organic matter and nutrient elements. Most importantly calcium reduces sodium levels within the soil caused by using recycled water.  Sodium locks up nutrients making them unavailable to absorbed by the turf and creates poor soil structure causing slow water infiltration which creates a high percentage of water run-off when irrigating or recieving rainfall.
