A question we constantly get around the course is where exactly your place in the field is??
The quick answer to this question is directly behind the group in front of you. Not the much believed in front of the group behind you.
If all players could keep this in the back of their mind everyone will move through there round enjoyably.

The 2010 members golf day was held on Friday 23rd July under perfect conditions. A big congratulations to Rick Ninness, Mick Noble, Charlie Riley & Peter Harford who conqoured the tricky Irish 4bbb format to run away winners on the day. The team finished just in front of Dennis Davey, Jeff Quick, Michale Aletti & Owen Luders.
I would like to thank all members for there support of the event which saw a field of 74 take part. There is plenty more events being looked at for the future so keep your eye out for more details.

The course received just over 100mm in 36 hours leaving the course very wet with bunkers GUR and carts on paths. Hopefully the weather clears and allows the team to undertake bunker repairs before Club Championship’s this Saturday

The greens are currently receiving a solid tyne aerification. Most of you would know the process of coring is very disruptive to the greens surface but is essential for healthy turf. The next option is solid tyne aerification which a solid 8mm thick by 300mm long rod is punched into the surface creating a passage for oxygen, water and nutrients. This method is almost undetectable to the eye and once the green is rolled afterwards the surface plays just as it was before the aerification was carried out.

Lime applications on fairways, tees and green surrounds have been completed. Lime's main component is calcium which helps increase fertiliser efficiency, raises soil pH, raises the levels of calcium and accelerates micro-biological activity and increases the rate of release from the soil of organic matter and nutrient elements. Most importantly calcium reduces sodium levels within the soil caused by using recycled water. Sodium locks up nutrients making them unavailable to absorbed by the turf and creates poor soil structure causing slow water infiltration which creates
a high percentage of water run-off when irrigating or recieving rainfall.
