From The General Manager June 2010

This month we farewell two long serving staff members, Wayne Moore who has been the Robina Woods Mechanic for the past 7 years and is retiring and Lisa Williams who has served on the course maintenance team at The Colonial for 17 years and is moving out West for a change in lifestyle. We wish them both all the best for the future and thank them for their service. In addition to Lisa and Wayne’s positions we are searching for two apprentices, (1x Chef and 1 x Horticulturist). Over the past few months we have tried to ensure that our operations are tightly controlled to avoid any detrimental impact to the course and we have encouraged member feedback to further improve our performance and the quality of the course.

We have immediately reacted to the most recent request to speed up the Robina Woods greens and have taken steps to purchase an electric roller for the first time in the clubs history. We continue to be involved in Interclub Pennant competitions at all levels and we are proud of providing those competitions free Tee times on the golf courses for the duration of each of the events. Unlike most other privately owned resort style Golf Courses we do this to support our business plan to provide the course to members as well as local visitors.

Overall it has been a difficult year and we know that we have a fair way to go in 2010 and I am confident with your continued support and positive input from the interested members we can achieve the optimum mix of member and public services to maintain our fantastic products.
